Protecting Nature with Liquid Soil

Liquid flooring as a sustainable solution in the construction industry

A key advantage of liquid soil is the reuse of existing soil. Instead of transporting and disposing of large quantities of excavated soil, the soil is processed directly on-site and reused.

This significantly reduces transportation distances, CO₂ emissions, and disposal costs. At the same time, it creates a closed-loop material cycle that conserves resources and makes construction projects more efficient. Liquid soil thus combines technical performance with sustainable construction and the responsible use of natural resources

The Flüssigboden OWL Story

Flüssigboden OWL is a young but highly specialized company that operates in one of the most complex and, at the same time, forward-looking disciplines in the construction industry: sustainable civil engineering using liquid soil.

Although the company has only been in existence for a few years, it combines deep-rooted craftsmanship, technological expertise, and a clear vision for the future. At our core, we are an agile startup that has evolved from real-world experience—founded to address genuine challenges that had remained unresolved in the German civil engineering sector for decades.

Liquid soil— the smart construction material for civil engineering

Liquid soil is a temporarily flowable backfill material produced from excavated soil. Through a precisely formulated mixture of soil, water, binders, and additives, liquid soil acquires specific properties that make it superior to conventional materials in many applications.

Unlike conventionally compacted soil, liquid soil spreads out on its own during installation and forms a homogeneous structure without voids or settlement. This makes it ideal for utility trenches, sewer construction, excavation pits, or work areas associated with infrastructure projects. At the same time, liquid soil remains loose enough to be easily removed later, allowing pipes to be exposed without difficulty even years down the line.

Reuse of excavated soil using liquid soil technology

Why fluidized soil is becoming increasingly important in modern civil engineering

The use of liquid soil offers a wide range of technical and economic benefits:
• Settlement-resistant backfill due to its homogeneous structure
• Protection of sensitive pipes without pressure spikes
• Reuse of existing soil instead of disposal
• Significantly faster construction processes due to flowable installation
• Lower transportation and disposal costs
• Sustainable construction with lower CO₂ emissions

While traditional ground-level installation can often lead to compaction issues and subsequent damage, liquid soil ensures controlled strength development and even load distribution in the subgrade.

Flüssigboden OWL – Technology, Experience, and On-Site Expertise

Flüssigboden OWL is a company specializing in sustainable civil engineering using liquid soil. Our approach goes far beyond simply supplying materials: We develop mixing plants, produce liquid soil directly on-site, and support projects from planning through to implementation.

Our technology enables production rates of over 100 m³ of liquid soil per hour and is customized to accommodate different soil types—whether sandy, loamy, or highly variable. Internet-enabled systems allow production processes to be monitored and optimized at any time. This ensures reliable operations, high production speeds, and consistent quality on every construction site.
